Be You. Love You. Pro You. Bristol Based - Travel Welcomed
My pronouns are she/her. I am spiritual, kind and compassionate. I love animals, nature and being outdoors. I have a naughty sense of humour, I love music, dancing and am often found singing!
I became a make-up artist when I needed a new creative challenge, so turned my passion into a business. What I love the most about this work is meeting, listening to and connecting with people. And of course, a good wedding!
I believe make-up can be enjoyed by everyone.
My brand ethos is about making people feel good, my motto being, 'Be You. Love You. Pro You.' The medium of make-up can be a great tool to create confidence and empower oneself.
I stand for equality, celebrate diversity and hope to embrace your individuality as everyones ideal make-up look varies. My preferred style for instance, is to create a natural make-up look, leaving the skin looking like skin, flawless and radiant, then any choice of eye or lip make-up looks incredible.
It is no accident that I dont refer only to natural bridal makeup, just brides, or women. I try and avoid using terms that are gender specific, preferring 'suit wearers' rather than grooms and generically 'party'. I acknowledge a ceremony may not be for a heterosexual couple and declare myself an LGBTQ+ inclusive supplier.
I feel the wedding industry quite often looks and sounds a certain way and I try not to be so heteronormative/binary and I hope that makes me stand out. I want you to feel comfortable booking me, with no assumptions.
I do not take before and after pictures of my clients. They are valid as clearly show the transformative powers of make-up and the clever tricks that we use with light and shade for example.
Results can be so dramatic and are often technically fantastic as an artist to observe and learn from.
However, I personally feel there’s value in the final look and I choose to make that my focus.
I believe make-up is about choice, freedom, self-expression, creativity, confidence and so much more and hope that’s what you recognise in my brand.
I trained at the world-leading Bath Academy of Media Makeup.
I am an accredited make-up artist, having received a quality education by highly regarded professionals in the industry.
I have always had a passion for make-up, I remember my great Grandmothers MaxFactor Creme Puff, the smell evokes so many happy memories of a fun loving mischievous woman!
My practice started when my sister and I would use our grandad as a model, subjecting him to hair and make-up makeovers, and we have the photos to prove it! Looking through and pinching samples from our mums Avon kit!
I am also a qualified Surgical Care Practitioner, part of the surgical medical team for the NHS, which gives me the edge of a very steady hand and eye for detail and hygiene practices.
I’ve learnt to read a room of people wearing surgical masks which allows me to pick up subtleties in body language that will guide me in how you are feeling about your make-up experience. I’m required to make patients feel relaxed and well looked after prior to surgery so hopefully my peaceful nature will help you feel at ease on your big day!
The products I use are all high-end from a variety of quality brands such as Nars, Glossier, Charlotte Tilbury, Laura Metcher, Pat McGrath, and Bobbi Brown for example.
I carry make-up for all skin tones.
I am also trained in airbrush make-up which means using an air gun (shall we call it a wand!) to apply the make-up (this forms on the skin in dots which happily complements the camera pixels when the image is produced - very flattering and very relaxing to have done. For this technique I use the brand Mistair which is vegan and hypoallergenic.
I am able to provide cruelty free and vegan make-up on request using brands such as Chantecaille, and NYX professional in addition to some of the others mentioned for example.
Hygiene is of upmost importance to me. I always use clean brushes of course, and have purchased specific pro brushes that alleviate the need to use disposables. However if it is absolutely necessary, I use wooden or bamboo handled wands. I use freshly laundered cotton rounds for cleansing, rather than disposable pads routinely.
I use cotton rounds to remove powder based products prior to use as I find that the most hygienic way to work.
